Job Description

The Director of Marketing and Brand Strategy leads, defines, and develops Renesas’ high-level marketing strategies across key and cross-marketing functions to establish short- and long-term marketing frameworks that map to and support the marketing and overall business goals through market analysis and a rigorous, insight-driven approach to marketing investment decisions that optimize effectiveness, accelerate growth, and strengthen long-term brand value. 

 

This position also plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the overall brand marketing strategy of the company. This leadership position requires a dynamic and strategic thinker with a deep understanding of branding, marketing, and semiconductor customer behavior. The position is responsible for driving brand growth and enhancing brand equity through industry thought-leadership positioning and a deep understanding of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of our competitors. This role requires a visionary leader who can inspire and lead cross-functional teams to deliver on the brand's promise and objectives. 

 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Strategic Planning: Create omnichannel marketing and brand positioning plans that align directly with marketing and company business objectives. Simplify highly technical concepts into clear value propositions for engineers, management, and C-level executives. 

  • Data and Performance Analytics: Understand and track marketing mix across key channels to evaluate overall marketing effectiveness and performance. Monitor and manage brand marketing equity, tracking brand health metrics and implementing omnichannel strategies to enhance brand perception and loyalty. 

  • Marketing Reports: Develop and compile marketing strategy reports and presentations that showcase key marketing strategies and initiatives through storytelling, analysis and metrics. 

  • Market Research: Conduct ongoing competitor analysis, audience research and channel assessments to spot emerging trends, shifting customer demands and leverage new audience connection opportunities. 

  • Team Leadership: Mentor marketing professionals, manage external agency relationships, and coordinate cross-departmental alignment. Serve as strategic marketing advisor to senior and executive stakeholders. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field. 

  • 5+ years’ experience in a leadership role. 

  • 10+ years of relevant working experience with increasing responsibility and strong track record of marketing and brand-strategy leadership and business strategy. 

  • Experience working with or within the semiconductor industry, whether in-house or as an external partner in a strategic role 

  • Analytical and critical thinking skills that convert data and other marketing insights into tangible results.  

  • Research-minded, conduct competitive marketing assessments and provide actionable insights and plans.  

  • Vast knowledge of digital marketing tools, content management systems, GA4, etc.  

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical marketing concepts to non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization, especially at the executive level. 

  • Ability to develop and implement data-driven strategies that drive business results. 

  • Strategically-minded yet strong attention to detail  

  • Strong leadership qualities such as team building, collaboration, and strategic thinking.
