Role Overview
The Diploma Engineer Trainee (DET) at Sunshell Power will support field execution, maintenance activities, and project operations for solar power installations. The role is oriented towards practical, hands-on learning at project sites and equips trainees with the technical skills required for solar project execution and O&M.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Execution & Installation
Assist in the installation of solar modules, mounting structures, cabling, and BOS components.
Perform routine checks and ensure compliance with approved drawings and standards.
Coordinate with site supervisors and contractors for daily activity planning.
2. Electrical & Mechanical Work
Support cable laying, termination, conduit routing, and testing activities.
Help with inverter installation, AC/DC side connections, and earthing systems.
Monitor workmanship quality and adhere to safety protocols.
3. Site Survey & Measurements
Carry out load assessments, measurements, and shading evaluation.
Assist with data collection required for system design and engineering.
4. Operations & Maintenance (if deployed in O&M)
Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities at solar plants.
Conduct cleaning supervision, inverter checks, string monitoring, and module health assessment.
Prepare daily and monthly generation/performance reports.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily site logs, material consumption reports, and checklists.
Support the preparation of site progress reports and client documentation.
Track material movement and coordinate with the procurement/logistics teams.
6. Safety & Compliance
Follow all site safety guidelines and ensure safe execution of activities.
Report any hazards or incidents immediately to supervisors.
Requirements
