More about our mission and what we offer.
Job DescriptionWhat you’ll be doing
As a Digital Workspace Engineer, you’ll ensure our core collaboration and communication platforms are secure, highly available, and scalable. You will collectively own the technical roadmap for our primary enterprise communication hubs—Google Workspace and Slack—while supporting and ensuring the smooth operations of our wider workplace suite (including Microsoft 365, Filecloud, DocuSign, Adobe, and Calendly).
The Digital Workspace team partners with internal teams across the company to design seamless, API-first integrations and robust automation. Your goal is to eliminate friction for our global teams while maintaining strict security boundaries, ensuring everyone can move fast without obstacles.
Your day-to-day:
Product & Delivery
Own the technical roadmap and deliverables for our core digital workspace suite (Google Workspace, Slack, Microsoft 365, Filecloud, etc.), optimizing for predictable, regular cadences of impactful updates.
Build custom automations and integrations between our SaaS stack and internal systems to reduce manual overhead, eliminate single points of failure, and streamline employee lifecycles.
Lead incident resolution and post-mortem processes for minor and major outages or misconfigurations within your domain, participating in our engineering support and escalation model as needed.
Embrace long-term project ownership while actively training and upskilling other engineers to avoid becoming a single blocker.
Leadership & Collaboration
Mentor, coach, and assist other engineers across the domain, facilitating onboarding for new team members.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Security, and IAM teams to provide feedback on roadmaps, ensuring you can always articulate why a feature is being built and the customer problem it solves.
Promote a culture of collaboration that minimizes duplicate work and aligns teams with broader engineering ceremonies (e.g., Tech Days, guilds).
Actively participate in the interview panel, to help grow our engineering talent using best practices.
Technical Expertise & Excellence
Design and scale systems with a long-term approach, utilizing clean design patterns, infrastructure-as-code (where applicable), and robust API documentation.
Account for the availability, reliability, and security of our digital workspace tools, proactively managing technical debt within our risk appetite.
Enforce company engineering best practices around monitoring, alerting, observability, and compliance auditing for third-party tools.
The experience you’ll need:
Expert-level administration of enterprise Google Workspace (excluding GCP) and Slack (e.g., Enterprise Grid, Slack apps, Workflow Builder).
Strong experience managing secondary corporate SaaS and collaboration tooling at scale (e.g., Microsoft/Office 365, Filecloud, DocuSign, Adobe, Calendly).
Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python or JavaScript/Apps Script preferred) to interact with SaaS REST APIs and build custom tooling or automation.
Deep proficiency with GAM to manage domain, user settings, and automated administrative tasks quickly via the command line.
Solid understanding of security best practices for digital workspace environments, including data loss prevention (DLP), conditional access, and third-party app governance.
Strong communication skills with an ownership mindset—someone who can confidently facilitate cross-team projects and ask the right questions.
Typically 3+ years of relevant SaaS Engineering, Digital Workspace, or Systems Engineering experience. We value skills and impact over years.
Bonus skills / experience:
DevOps & Infrastructure as Code: Hands-on experience with DevOps practices (Git, CI/CD, observability) and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform), as well as configuration as code for identity systems.
Low/No-Code Platforms: Familiarity with low/no‑code automation platforms (e.g., Okta Workflows, Workato, Zapier) and modern iPaaS architecture patterns.
Compliance & Audits: Experience navigating formal audits and operating within compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, or SOX.
Certifications: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Google Workspace Certified Professional Administrator, Slack Certified Admin/Developer, or related security/SaaS credentials).
For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.
We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences.
Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.
