Job Overview

The Spain IT Manager is responsible for the management and operation of Monex Spain´s technological needs.

The job holder works with stakeholders across the business and reviews the needs of the organisation and manages the IT investment and requirements of the organisation to achieve the strategic objectives while satisfying regulatory requirements.

The Spain IT Manager reports directly to the Head of Business Enablement - Spain.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Monex Spain

• Responsible for Monex’s Internal & Client Technology & Networks, Business Continuity & Data Management;
• Ensuring that Monex Spain complies with its Legal and Regulatory requirements;
• To set the tone for an inclusive and supportive culture for all Monex staff;

Technology & Data:

• Define and execute the technical roadmap to support Monex’s growth and innovation in the Spanish entities.
• Oversee all internal systems (e.g., trading platforms, CRM, communication tools) and client-facing technologies.
• Ensure GDPR and data privacy compliance for both employee and client data.
• Manage outsourced IT support providers, including the UK-based sister company, ensuring SLAs, cybersecurity standards, and regulatory requirements are consistently met.
• Ensure that all office systems and infrastructure (e.g., internet, printers, workstations, telephony, internal networks) are fully operational, secure, and well-maintained.
• Represent the Spanish entities in cross-border IT governance meetings and ensure local needs and compliance obligations are addressed.
• Implement and maintain access control policies, ensuring only authorized access to sensitive systems and data.
• Lead cybersecurity initiatives, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and incident response planning.

Business Continuity

• Own and continuously improve the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP).
• Conduct regular resilience testing and simulations to ensure operational continuity during disruptions.
• Coordinate cross-functional responses to major incidents, ensuring minimal impact on business operations

Business Knowledge / Technical Skills:

• Previous experience of working within a regulated investment firm or strong equivalent demonstrable knowledge within a relevant Financial Services firm;
• Strong knowledge of the regulatory environment in which an FX firm operates; 
• Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the purpose of risk management and compliance within a regulated environment;
• Strong knowledge of FX and derivatives.
• Strong knowledge of DORA, GDPR, and Spanish financial regulatory frameworks.
