Position Overview:

The Digital Media Specialist is an integral member of a team in a fast-paced environment whose objective is the production of quality and innovative courses for our students. This role is responsible for producing and editing audio and video elements for use in distance learning courses for the professional markets. The Digital Media Specialist will work across product lines in a deadline-driven environment as part of Becker’s fast-paced and innovative Course Development team.

What You'll Do

  • Demonstrates proficiency in producing and editing audio/video elements across multiple product lines and various projects.
  • Designs and executes motion graphics in After Effects and Premiere Pro for use in marketing, product videos, and other videos.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality professional videos of instructor levels, interactives, marketing promos, student tutorials, etc.
  • Assists with onsite and remote studio set up for recording instructors, including basic video camera and related recording equipment set up, teleprompter set up and video capture.
  • Assist with in-studio live production with camera, lights, and talent performance direction.
  • Some travel may be required for onsite projects.
  • Ensures all assignments are delivered on a timely basis with high quality and accuracy.
  • Actively participates in team meetings, maintaining clear and collaborative communication with team members to build consensus and ensure adherence to schedules, deadlines, and goals.
  • Communicates and coordinates with manager and project managers to balance workload and adhere to project deadlines and production schedules.
  • Performs accurate and efficient record keeping and file maintenance according to departmental guidelines.
  • Stays current with latest hardware and software technologies.
  • Provides other departments with expertise and assistance as needed.
  • Researches subject matter specific photos with external photo vendors. Works in partnership with curriculum team SMEs to determine most appropriate and cost efficient image.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area of study (e.g., audio/video production); or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of three years of job experience demonstrating the ability to perform these responsibilities with proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Podcast production experience preferred.
  • Ability to apply best practices during media and course development.
  • Experience with one or more: A/V editing, media creation, and/or multimedia technology.
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products and audio/video editing tools.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft’s Office suite and communication tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong oral and written communication.
  • Ability to learn new software application skills and synthesize information quickly.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and team environment as an individual contributor and as a member of the team.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities simultaneously and self-manage time and deliverables.
  • Highly motivated and comfortable making decisions and judgment calls on content development.
