The Digital Marketing Specialist will join the marketing and communications team, providing support with content creation, program outreach, event support, and other tasks as needed. This position contributes to marketing for JVS Boston’s program offerings, managing the organization’s social media presence, and creating on-brand digital and print materials to support JVS Boston’s communication and marketing strategy.
We are looking for someone with an artistic eye and experience working with graphic design software, photography, social media campaigns, and writing for multiple audiences. This position is part of the organization’s Advancement department, and supports with client-facing outreach and donor-facing engagement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage JVS Boston’s social media presence, increase engagement across platforms, and work closely with communications and marketing team to develop comprehensive social campaigns
- Conduct client interviews and utilize stories of impact through text, photo, video, and other mediums to engage with clients, donors, and other stakeholder audiences
- Create print and digital collateral using Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud to develop on-brand graphics, videos, flyers, and brochures
- Work closely with the Marketing Analytics Specialist to create content for Meta Ads, Indeed Ads, and Google Ads
- Update digital marketing materials, such as the website, as needed
- Collaborate with internal program teams to create promotional materials, including flyers, graduation invitations, advertisements, and more.
- Develop, write, and design comprehensive email marketing campaigns for client outreach.
- Develop, write, and design regular email newsletters to various audiences to maintain engagement with JVS programs and fundraising.
- Attend events including fundraisers, graduations, staff events, and more to take photos, record quotes, and gather content for promotion.
- Prepare pre- and post-event promotional materials, including invitation graphics, and social media posts.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or similar field, or equivalent work experience
- 1-2 years of work experience in the marketing field, nonprofit marketing a plus
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, graphic design, and brand compliance
- Salesforce experience required
- Email marketing experience preferred, specifically in Pardot
- Experience using Canva and/or Adobe Suite
- Exceptional writing, research and communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office, Google Analytics, social media platforms, SEO/SEM and back-end web design (HTML knowledge a plus).
- Photography and videography experience
