Brief Job Description
The Digital Marketing Specialist will be responsible for managing marketing databases, driving data-driven insights through analytics, and executing targeted email marketing campaigns that support demand generation and revenue goals. This role places a strong emphasis on data integrity, audience intelligence, and performance measurement to ensure marketing programs are precisely targeted and continuously optimized.
The role holder will own the health and governance of marketing databases, build robust reporting frameworks, and translate data into actionable strategies. They will also plan and execute email campaigns that leverage segmentation and analytics insights to maximize engagement and conversion.
The position holder will report to the Digital Marketing Manager and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams within the Global Marketing organization, including demand generation, content, field marketing, and sales, to ensure cohesive messaging and maximum campaign impact.
Responsibilities and Measurement Criteria
Database Management (~35%)
- Owns and maintains the marketing database, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and hygiene through regular audits, deduplication, and enrichment processes.
- Implements and enforces data governance policies, including opt-in/opt-out management, suppression lists, and compliance with data privacy regulations (GDPR, etc.).
- Manages audience segmentation and list architecture to enable precise targeting and personalization at scale.
- Collaborates with CRM and marketing automation platform administrators to ensure seamless data flow and integration between systems (e.g., Eloqua, 6Sense).
- Standardizes database management processes across the global organization to ensure consistency, scalability, and data quality.
Analytics & Performance Optimization (~35%)
- Defines, tracks, and reports on key marketing KPIs—including open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, bounce rates, and unsubscribe rates.
- Builds dashboards and regular performance reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders and leadership.
- Analyzes campaign and database data to identify trends, opportunities, audience behaviors, and areas for optimization; translates findings into strategic recommendations.
- Determines demand marketing program metrics and measurement frameworks to gauge success against objectives.
Email Marketing Strategy & Execution (~30%)
- Develops and executes email marketing campaigns (nurture flows, promotional blasts, triggered sequences, and lifecycle communications) that support demand pipeline and revenue targets.
- Plans and implements the optimal mix of inbound and outbound email tactics aligned with integrated campaign strategies.
- Manages A/B and multivariate testing of subject lines, content, CTAs, send times, and audience segments to continuously improve engagement and conversion rates.
- Ensures email deliverability best practices are followed, including sender reputation management and authentication protocols.
- Collaborates with content and creative teams to develop compelling email copy, templates, and designs that align with brand standards and campaign objectives.
Qualifications
Required / Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in digital marketing with a focus on database management, marketing analytics, and email marketing.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Eloqua, Marketo, HubSpot, MailChimp or other similar platforms) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
- Strong proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and dashboard creation (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau, Excel/Power BI).
- Solid understanding of database architecture, data hygiene practices, segmentation strategies, and compliance regulations.
- Experience with email deliverability, list management, and A/B testing methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL or data querying for audience segmentation, reporting, and database management.
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS for email template customization and troubleshooting.
