As a Digital Content Author, you are responsible to organize, author, and maintain content for defined web sites Catdealer.com, Caterpillar.com, and Cat.com. Collaborate with Digital Content Specialists and Content Owners to set up, deliver, and maintain content as defined by the data governance policies of the web site owner(s). The overall goal is to maintain a well-organized, user-friendly web presence that contains relevant content that meets the needs of the user audience and meets the goals of the content owners.
What You Will Do:

  • Review content appropriateness and placement of author content for the desired results by leveraging data analytics.
  • Assist in developing standard templates, documentation, and processes that make it easier for the content owners to provide the content and the end users to find and understand the content.
  • Maintain knowledge of the search optimization principles, technology, and the integration of potential multiple on-line channels.
  • Maintain knowledge of data governance for the web site.
  • Maintain knowledge of functional technology of the authoring system or tools as they change with upgrades and new releases.
  • Ensure compliance with the latest web development standards supported by the company, and brand, legal, information security (data security and privacy compliance) and document retention standards within the content delivered.
  • Understand content update schedules and ability to prioritize work to achieve the desired results in authoring to meet those schedules.
  • You will need to be able to take direction for other content related duties as provided by the leadership team.
  • Identifies, documents, and reports design, reliability and maintenance problems and bugs. Gathers and consolidates feedback from customers and team.
  • Answers customer and support questions; provides guidance and support for product integration and infrastructure issues.


What You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Marketing or Communications; or equivalent work experience
  • Experience developing a cooperative work environment with others inside and outside the department
  • Experience effectively communicating with others at various levels in the organization
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10% of working time


Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Experience with web content (content management, content development, taxonomy)
  • Working experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or other web platform tools
  • Working experience with HTML, JavaScript, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop
  • Working experience with metrics, Google Analytics, data focused
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change

Summary Pay Range:
$71,040.00 - $106,440.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
