Responsibilities
- Design and develop cloud analytic solutions using Microsoft Fabric, the broader Azure data estate, and a modern data and analytics platform architecture.
- Own the end-to-end architecture across ingestion, transformation, data science, semantic modeling, and reporting and application experience, ensuring every handoff between them is a defined contract, not an assumption.
- Ensure adherence to best practices and standards for security, compliance, scalability, reliability and performance, applied identically across reports, pipelines and agents.
- Document and communicate the platform architecture to internal teams, technical stakeholders and executive sponsors.
- Establish and refine the frameworks and accelerators that let engagements start from a foundation instead of a blank page: starter domain models, declarative environment patterns, governed metric libraries, automated reviews and guardrails.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers across each capability area, as well as to business areas and technology partners.
- Lead project delivery workstreams and teams across the platform.
- Contribute directly to business development, shaping the platform architecture as a sellable, repeatable offering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in cloud data architecture, with deep, current expertise in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric.
- Strong knowledge of Azure services such as Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Storage Accounts, Logic Apps, Functions, Azure SQL Database, Active Directory, DevOps, and Monitor.
- Strong knowledge of Fabric workloads such as Power BI, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Semantic Model, Data Factory pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, Notebooks, Data Activator, Deployment Pipelines, Workspaces, and Apps.
- Working fluency with platform governance, security, infrastructure-as-code, and orchestration disciplines, sufficient to design compatibly with each, even without owning them directly.
- Proficient in cloud architecture design patterns and principles, such as microservices, serverless, and event-driven architecture, applied specifically to data platforms.
- Experience leading cloud migration, integration, and deployment engagements end to end, across multiple clients or programs.
- Certification in Microsoft Azure or Fabric, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Fabric Analytics Engineer, or Azure Data Engineer Associate.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring technical teams and leading delivery workstreams, not only designing architecture solo.
- A record of contributing to business development and growing client relationships.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
