Salary: £35,000 – £40,000, negotiable depending on experience

About the Role
This specialist role within the Digital Assessment Innovation department focuses on supporting and embedding technical accessibility standards across IB’s digital assessment ecosystem, ensuring compliance with WCAG, EN 301 549, the European Accessibility Act, 1EdTech (QTI & PNP), and other relevant global standards,
The role will provide expert guidance to strengthen IB’s compliance, improve accessibility across design and delivery practices, and build organisational capability. It will also play a key role in raising internal organisational awareness, recommending improvements to policy, design and development processes, and ensuring that technical accessibility standards are considered from the outset and throughout the assessment lifecycle.
The role will maintain oversight of the evolving external standards landscape, ensuring that relevant changes are understood and effectively implemented within IB.
Responsibilities- Act as subject matter expert on global accessibility standards (WCAG, EN 301 549, EAA, 1EdTech)
- Translate accessibility standards into clear, implementable requirements and frameworks
- Monitor and report on compliance status, risks, and progress
- Lead remediation of accessibility issues and manage related technical backlogs
- Embed accessibility across end-to-end product lifecycle processes
- Define and implement accessibility checkpoints within delivery workflows
- Deliver training and guidance to build accessibility capability across teams
- Contribute to accessibility governance, policy, and audit readiness
- Establish and support accessibility communities of practice
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in accessibility practices
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience; professional accessibility certification desirable
- Significant experience in digital accessibility and compliance
- Proven experience applying accessibility standards such as WCAG, 1EdTech and EAA
- Experience leading accessibility audits and remediation activities
- Strong knowledge of accessibility regulations and web technologies
- Experience working across multidisciplinary digital delivery teams
- Ability to translate complex standards into practical solutions
