Position Purpose:

Under the direction of a Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician, Sonographer performs sonographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail; performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative, using ultrasound for diagnosis.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduation of equivalent.  

  • Satisfactory completion of an ultrasound program or similar training to meet qualifications for registration. 

  • Required to have RDMS credentials and updated BLS.

  • Complete exams of abdominal, pelvic, transvaginal, small parts, breast, OB <14 weeks and OB >14 weeks.

Skills Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an ultrasound program or similar training to meet registration
  • RDMS credentials
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to perform abdominal, pelvic, transvaginal, small parts, breast, and obstetric (<14 and >14 weeks) ultrasound exams
  • Perform sonographic procedures independently using ultrasound for diagnosis under physician direction
