The IMS West Configuration Management team is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the application modernization initiatives, including transitioning legacy PVCS/ANT-based development and release processes to GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and Artifactory-driven deployments. This role will help modernize monolithic C, C++, and Java application portfolios, automate build and deployment workflows, and redesign environment promotion processes from TEST/ALPHA/BETA/PROD to a build-version-driven DEV/UAT/BUAT/PROD model.

What you will be responsible for
As a DevOps Engineer (AVP), you will
Lead modernization of legacy development, build, and release processes, transitioning applications from PVCS, ANT, and manual deployment models to GitHub-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated release workflows.
Design and implement modern software delivery solutions, including GitHub Actions, Artifactory-driven promotion strategies, DevSecOps controls, and standardized deployment frameworks.
Analyze, reverse engineer, and document legacy applications and build processes to support modernization, migration planning, technical debt reduction, and long-term maintainability.
Develop automation solutions using Python, Shell, PowerShell, and related technologies to eliminate manual operational tasks and improve software delivery efficiency.
Partner with development, infrastructure, security, architecture, and operations teams to onboard applications into enterprise GitHub, SonarQube, DevSecOps, and software governance frameworks.
Modernize application packaging, deployment, and environment promotion processes by implementing artifact-driven release management and version-controlled deployment standards.
Support migration of legacy user interfaces and applications to modern architectures, including React-based web applications, API enablement, and container-ready deployment models.
Promote software quality through automated testing, release validation, code review, security scanning, and continuous improvement of development standards and practices.
Assist with strategic modernization initiatives including development tool upgrades, secrets management improvements, DevSecOps integration, and application platform transformation efforts.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related or relevant field
7+ years of hands-on experience in Configuration Management
5+ years in GitHub, CI/CD, Artifactory, build and release engineering, and enterprise software modernization.
Must be proficient in UNIX/Linux (csh, bash, Python) and Windows (Batch, CMD, PowerShell) automation. This includes UNIX shell scripts.
Knowledge and experience with multiple development languages including C, C++, and/or Java,
Experience with ANT, Make, MSBuild, Maven, application packaging
DevSecOps experience and knowing modern deployment architectures
Experience with relational databases/SQL/Stored procedures.
Experience with micro-services and component-based architectures is a plus.
Strong coding, design & debugging skills
Respond to and troubleshoot production issues promptly as needed
Should have worked and delivered projects in a fast-phased approach
Experience with Agile Project management methodologies
Knowledge of using AI Tools such as GitHub CoPilot is a plus
Work Requirement
Onsite 4 days a week in our Irvine, CA office and one day remote.
Standard business hours aligned to project and stakeholder needs(8am to 5pm
Salary Range:
$100,000 - $167,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the location above, the applicable range could differ.
