As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing and implementing solutions, driving automation, and optimising performance across the software development lifecycle. You’ll be securing buy-in to DevOps methodologies from the Product Owner, Platform Lead, and other key business stakeholders, driving commitment to an alternative way of working.
We’ll look to you to build and leverage internal and external relationships to make sure that decisions made are commercially focused and create long-term value for the bank. You’ll also be collaborating in the development of the DevOps strategy and roadmap aligned with business goals.
In addition, you’ll be:
- Designing and overseeing the architecture of systems and applications with a focus on scalability and reliability
- Analysing system performance and optimising infrastructure to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Driving innovation by evaluating and integrating new technologies that enhance the DevOps ecosystem
- Leading the automation of advanced workflows, creating reusable modules and templates
- Making sure that practices align with compliance requirements and industry standards
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical guidance
To take on this role, you’ll need knowledge of the core principles and benefits of DevOps, paired with experience with common DevOps tools, source code management, deployment, and configuration tooling.
You’ll also need:
- 8+ years of experience with GitLab CI/CD, AWS SageMaker, AWS Bedrock, and AWS Cloud services; proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and optionally Terraform
- Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch for monitoring; strong understanding of model lifecycle management, data pipelines, and cloud security
- Exposure to LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, and vector databases
- Experience in scripting and working within a governed and regulated change framework
- Knowledge and experience of Agile ways of working
- Experience of deploying business critical systems to production on a daily continuous basis
- Knowledge of portfolio management theories, models, and practices, within an Agile or DevOps environment
