Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced DevOps Engineer who is proficient in a range of tools including GitLab, Jenkins, BitBucket, and Jira. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI / CD) pipelines, Monitoring and Observation strategy, and have strong communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Design, set up, and manage CI / CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, Bitbucket.

• Work closely with software development teams to integrate code changes, manage repositories, and streamline the development process.

• Utilize Jira for project tracking, issue tracking, and agile project management.

• Ensure continuous improvement for automation processes for software build and deployment.

• Monitor system performance and implement strategies for reliability and scalability.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to DevOps practices, tools, and configurations.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in development, test, and production environments.

• Collaborate effectively with internal teams to enhance overall operational efficiency.

Skillset:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Proficiency in GitLab, Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Jira.

• Proven experience in CI / CD pipelines setup and management.

• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Strong knowledge of scripting languages like Bash and Python.

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like AppDynamics, Prometheus, and Grafana.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

This role is based in Chennai.
