We are seeking for a Device Analysis Engineer reporting to the Device Analysis Lead Engineer, to be based in Bangsar South, KL. In this role, the successful Device Analysis Engineer will be responsible to performs testing on Cochlear devices, sub-systems and components Identification of failure modes, mechanisms and root cause of device failures are key to this role.

Key Responsibilities;

The Device Analysis Engineer providing device analysis data to management and cross-functional teams, and escalating difficult cases to Senior Device Analysis Engineers. The Device Analysis Engineer will also be responsible for the administration of Device Analysis transactions in the Complaints Handling System and will coordinate the laboratory instrument maintenance.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Handle device investigation, perform test returned devices following the test plan to verify device failure, isolate faults and establish the root cause(s).
  • Assist team in gathering background information to establish the reason(s) for the return of the device under test.
  • Perform tests required to assist Device Analysis team to determine or simulate specific failure modes and mechanisms.
  • Perform testing of devices and accessories to assist the business in improving quality and reliability issues.
  • Responsible to create, execute and release Device Analysis Reports.
  • Provide management and cross functional team with product failure analysis data.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of device analysis test results to feedback into the Complaints Handling System 
  • Coordinate and control the processing of information from the Returned Devices and other relevant returned devices documentation in a timely and effective manner.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and work across the team to implement.

Key Requirements;

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited engineering program in Electrical, Electronics or Material Science or related discipline.
  • At least 3 year(s) of working experience in electronic device servicing/maintenance or medical device manufacturing, assembly or testing as an engineer is required for this position. Preferably failure analysis engineer or debug engineer in Quality Control or equivalent.
  • Python skills required, ability to debug software by assess Python code.
  • Ability to write technical documents and reports
  • Good verbal, written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and drive to succeed.
