Position Overview: 

The Developmental Consultant II (DC II) is responsible for coordinating family services for assigned clients within the Healthy Beginnings system of care. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, screening and assessment to determine program eligibility; parental education, system navigation, collaborating with Healthy Beginnings Entry Agency (HB/EA) and community agencies; and providing referrals and linkages to services for families with children ages birth through age 5 within Palm Beach County. This position will provide services in the field and requires flexibility with daytime and evening hours to accommodate client schedules.

*This position works the schedule of Tuesday-Saturday, 11am-7:30pm*

 

Here's what the job involves:

  • Provide developmental screenings and assessments for children birth through age five and their families.

  • Analyze assessment results to identify developmental needs, risk factors, strengths, and appropriate services.

  • Educate families about Healthy Beginnings, CSC, ELC, and other community resources.

  • Determine eligibility for prevention and early intervention services using established criteria.

  • Connect families with Healthy Beginnings and community services through referrals, follow-up, and support.

  • Conduct home visits and community-based appointments throughout Palm Beach County.

  • Engage families and support community outreach, networking events, trainings, and workshops.

  • Maintain accurate case documentation, program data, referrals, and service records while meeting program goals.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services (preferably in a field such as social work, developmental psychology, and/or early childhood education).

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in child welfare, primary prevention services, child development or related field.

  • Must be able to work the schedule of Tuesday-Saturday, 11am-7:30pm

  • Must be 21 years or older

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.

  • Valid Florida’s driver’s license is required.

  • Successful completion of a background check through Clearinghouse (learn more)

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, preferably social work, developmental psychology, early childhood education, or a related field

  • Availability to work Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • At least 21 years of age
