The Space Sector of Moog’s Space and Defense Group (SDG) designs and manufactures systems to survive the harsh environments of space travel. As an industry leader in space avionics, actuation and mechanisms, propulsion, power, structures, and shock and vibration control, Moog has been committed to the space industry for more than 60 years and Moog products have been to every planet.

Our team in the Space Sector’s Actuation Systems Business Unit is looking for a Development Systems Engineer to perform the conceptual design, analysis, development, and testing of complex systems used on NASA, military, and commercial applications. This position requires a high degree of foresight and creativity to anticipate and solve unprecedented engineering problems.

As a Development Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Contribute to the design, verification and validation
  • Support system or subsystem-level integration and test
  • Operate as member of the Systems Engineering team, within a versatile project team
  • Create design artifacts including simulation models, design requirements, validation and verification plans and procedures, test and analysis reports
  • Communicate on a technical level with customer representatives and suppliers
  • Ask questions, do research, and understand Moog's technology
  • Analyze and troubleshoot problems for root cause, and help implement solutions
  • Learn from senior staff and apply lessons to assigned tasks
  • Approximately 5% travel to other Moog and customer sites

To be considered for the Development Systems Engineer role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Basic knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink tools
  • Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance

It’d be great if you also had:

  • Supporting system architecture experience (Cameo and MBSE)
  • DOORS experience

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $85,000.00–$105,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
