The Customer Process Development team supports high-value customers in the consumer electronics industry by developing and optimising processes that leverage Renishaw’s metrology and manufacturing technologies. The team’s primary functions include delivering key customer measurement and process control solutions, providing support to consumer electronics focused subsidiary teams, and developing new products based on customer requirements.
We are seeking a highly motivated Development Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing innovative manufacturing and metrology solutions that address customer requirements and improve production processes.
Responsibilities
Work as part of a team to deliver key solutions to customer manufacturing and metrology challenges within high-volume consumer electronics production.
Design & manufacture bespoke fixturing & work holding solutions to support measurement and manufacturing processes.
Support projects from CAD design, manufacturing in-house, assembly and solution supply.
Maintain the in-house development area so that it can operate to a high standard consistently. Whilst continually assessing areas for improvement to ensure a dynamic approach to fixturing supply during tight deadlines.
Key requirements
Educated to an HNC/HND/Degree level in an engineering discipline, a served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment
Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably Milling
Proficient in CAD/CAM, ideally Siemens NX and Teamcenter
A good understanding of GD&T
A methodical approach to problem-solving.
A high level of manual dexterity and attention to detail
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to work with stakeholders across the business.
Desirable requirements
Previous experience in the design and implementation of simple automation systems.
Mechanical design experience of engineering systems.
Design for manufacture (DFM) principles.
