- Support the product development process from initial concept through to confirmation, acting as the technical link between Design, Product Line Management, and Sourcing
- Stay up to date on competitor products, market trends, and performance benchmarks
- Collaborate with suppliers to discover innovative materials, components, and construction methods that enhance performance and sustainability
- Coordinate development phases with Design, Product Line Management, Product Testing, Sustainability, and PUMA Group Sourcing
- Offer alternatives and solutions throughout the development process to meet performance, cost, and quality goals
- Create clear technical development packages to communicate construction and aesthetic details
- Inspect and evaluate prototypes to ensure alignment with technical specifications and cost targets
- Coordinate product testing and implement feedback from wear tests and lab validation
- Approve confirmation samples for quality, fit, performance and production readiness
- Maintain accurate product data in internal systems
- Communicate daily with Puma Sourcing teams to ensure alignment on timelines, technical issues, and development progress
- Participate in milestone meetings, global reviews, and cross-functional sessions as a representative of Development
- Work closely with athletes, testers, and category leads to translate performance insights into product refinements
- Domestic and international travel required (approx. 20%).
- Degree in Footwear Technology, Engineering, or related field
- Experience in footwear product development with an understanding of end-to-end processes
- Hands-on knowledge of materials, components, and construction methods
- Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail and functionality
- Reliable project coordination and time management abilities
- Clear communicator with strong organizational and intercultural skills
- Team-oriented mindset, and proactive in execution
- Fluent in English; German is a plus
- Familiarity with sustainability initiatives, product testing, and development software is an advantage
- Willingness to travel and collaborate across global teams.
