Working as part of a cross functional team, you deliver the RDQ activities required to complete Packaging Design and Packaging Deployment for Innovation/Growth projects and productivity projects across multiple geographies with an emphasis on delivering the desired consumer experience.
How you will contribute
With the support and guidance of a manager, you will organize and execute projects in line with RDQ, marketing and manufacturing requirements, effectively communicating status and risks. You will plan and conduct activities to generate appropriate packaging information, using sampling and supplier management, and pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements. In this role, you will plan and conduct process development activities (e.g. packaging design and specifications, packaging scale up, commissioning etc.) and help with planning and the effective use of resources, including the use of external agencies. You will also create technical reports, which will require your skills in analysis and interpretation of results that will lead to conclusions and recommendations; create and maintain accurate packaging specifications; and create intellectual property to drive our competitive advantage.

Job Objective:
Responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing innovative and sustainable packaging solutions for the biscuits segment (Oreo and Chips Ahoy!). This role involves working across all phases of the packaging lifecycle, from ideation and concept to implementation and commercialization, ensuring that packaging meets functionality, cost, quality, safety, and sustainability requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new packaging structures, materials, and components based on product, market, and consumer needs.
- Manage the full packaging lifecycle, from concept to commercialization.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing packaging in terms of performance, efficiency, cost, usability, and sustainability.
- Plan and execute packaging tests to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Research and evaluate new sustainable packaging materials and technologies.
- Manage packaging development projects from concept to commercialization, including defining scope, timelines, and resources.
- Ensure suppliers meet technical specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure all packaging designs comply with food safety regulations, environmental policies, and applicable legal requirements.
- Work collaboratively within a team and independently under the guidance of a manager.
- Apply fundamental technical knowledge to interpret and analyze data, drawing clear conclusions.
- Provide support in specification management to guarantee compliance with quality standards.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's or Engineering degree completed in Food Science, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Design, or related fields. University degree (diploma) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the packaging field, participating in processes related to design, development, material selection, production, and/or implementation of packaging solutions.
- English: Advanced.
- Packaging engineering and specification development.
- Proficiency in SAP, PLM, and SharePoint.
