What You'll Do
In this role, you'll be responsible for developing instrumentation and controls design solutions for industrial facilities and multidisciplinary engineering projects. You'll work closely with licensed engineers, experienced designers, project teams, and clients to support PLC, SCADA, and DCS-based control systems. This position plays an important role in helping clients improve control system performance, reliability, and safety while giving you the opportunity to lead technical design work and mentor developing designers.
• Develop instrument specifications and PLC, SCADA, and DCS-based control system designs for industrial facilities
• Design instrumentation and control systems for industrial, manufacturing, and utilities projects
• Create specifications and calculations for flow meters, analyzers, transmitters, and other field instruments
• Perform control system studies and troubleshoot existing control systems to support client operations
• Develop conceptual designs and retrofit solutions for new and existing control systems
• Prepare detailed instrument specifications, selections, logic diagrams, loop sheets, instrument lists, I/O lists, and instrumentation plans
• Lead instrumentation and controls engineering and design responsibilities on multidisciplinary engineering projects
• Provide field support, including on-site design, technical support, commissioning, and construction management
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines and offices to meet project requirements and client deadlines
• Train and mentor junior instrumentation and controls designers
What You'll Bring
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems documentation and engineering design for industrial control systems, including instrumentation, control logic, PLC, SCADA, and DCS-based systems
• Strong experience designing in Revit
• Experience executing projects for food & beverage, advanced technology/data centers, or life science industries with a focus on quality, cost effectiveness, and safety
• Solid understanding of area classification and control system design team coordination
• Ability to travel for project requirements, including installation and start-up activities, client and company meetings, trainings, seminars, forums, and conventions
Compensation:
The approximate pay range for this position is $35-$50/HR. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as geographic location of the position.
