Job Summary
- Lead and manage the powder functionality laboratory, driving the evaluation and optimization of snack seasoning performance.
- Measure, analyze, and interpret powder flow and functionality data using specialized testing equipment, translating findings into actionable recommendations for flavorists and product developers.
- Develop and test seasoning formulations to validate performance theories, troubleshoot issues, and support product improvements.
- Provide technical expertise during customer and internal seasoning plant trials, identifying opportunities for optimization and recommending next steps.
- Support the successful scale-up of seasoning systems by identifying and resolving potential application and performance challenges.
- Ensure development samples are applied and presented to the highest standard using appropriate seasoning technologies and methodologies.
- Collaborate closely with sensory, innovation, and cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused solutions and validate product performance.
- Mentor junior team members, share technical expertise, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the global IFF network.
- Anticipate future business needs related to powder performance measurement and help build business cases for new capabilities and technologies.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Food Science, Chemistry, Material Science, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Experience working in a powder functionality, food technology, seasoning, or product development laboratory environment.
- Strong understanding of powder flow behavior, functionality testing, data interpretation, and technical reporting.
- Knowledge of snack seasoning production processes and the factors influencing seasoning performance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to independently investigate issues and recommend practical solutions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple activities and meet deadlines.
- Effective communicator with excellent presentation skills and the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive, self-driven, and capable of working independently while contributing as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong digital literacy and experience analyzing, reporting, and presenting technical data.
- Experience with industrial snack seasoning application technologies, including dusting, slurry, electrostatic, and liquid application systems.
