Darkroom is looking for a self-driven Graphic Designer with a background or strong interest in architecture and real estate. You’ll be dedicated full-time to one client, a top U.S. real estate and investment management firm based in New York City, working closely under their direction as the primary Designer.

This role is for someone with deep experience across digital and print design, ads, emails, decks, and illustration, who’s passionate about using their skills to help a major institution succeed. Responsibilities include designing digital ad units, PowerPoint decks, and print-ready assets like event invitations and tour boards, as well as creating space illustrations such as floor plans and building stacking plans based on CAD files from architects.

While dedicated to one account, this role provides full access to Darkroom’s creative team and the opportunity to expand to additional clients after 8–12 months of strong performance.

This is a fully remote role supporting a team in the EST time zone and is open to candidates based in Brazil, Portugal, and Spain.

What you'll do
  • Design digital assets that support a range of client marketing initiatives briefed by the client:

    • Digital ad units (display, social, video, GIFs, and statics)

    • Powerpoint deck design

    • Maps

    • Emails

  • Create space illustrations including floor plans and building stacking plans based on CAD files provided by architects.

  • Design print-ready assets such as tour boards and event invitations.

  • Communicate with the client directly and present designs on calls, leading the client through workshopping, and obtain approvals while maintaining a strong working relationship.

  • Collaborate closely with the client for feedback and approvals to ensure your work adheres to a high standard of craft.

  • Act as a strong steward of the Darkroom brand in providing top-tier design services and owning the quality and satisfaction of services received by the client.

  • This role is on the Creative team and reports to the Director of Creative. You’ll work alongside a team of 10+ Designers, each supporting their own roster of clients.

Who You AreHard Skills
  • Digital portfolio with work that covers marketing design, illustration, print design, typography, and deck design.

  • Solid understanding of design principles, including layout, color theory, typography, and composition.

  • 2+ years of proven design work experience (preferably within an agency or design studio)

  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Suite is non-negotiable.

  • Proficiency or familiarity with AutoCAD is preferable, as the client is a real estate firm.

  • Fluency in English is non-negotiable (spoken and written, candidate must be proficient in presenting work in English).

Soft Skills
  • Highly creative individual who strives for detail-oriented design and can execute comfortably through client feedback.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and translate project requirements into compelling designs.

  • Self-motivated and proactive with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for detail-oriented deliverables.

  • Systematic thinker, who problem solves and time manages without heavy direction.

Nice to Have
  • Experience working with real estate and architecture materials like floor plans and stacking plans.

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

  • Motion Graphics portfolio or reel (AE, Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya)

  • BA or higher degree in Graphic Design or Fine Arts preferred
