We are more than 34,000 people, in over 30 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.

Role description:

Arcadis Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Quality Manager to lead quality assurance and control processes across major infrastructure projects, including multidisciplinary design coordination, supplier evaluations, and technical supervision. This role is crucial in ensuring that design processes and project deliverables meet or exceed industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations, specifically aligned with ISO 9001:2015, CSA standards, and project-specific Design Quality Management Plans.

Role accountabilities:

In this role, you will provide technical leadership for design quality across all project phases, ensuring that deliverables consistently align with Arcadis standards, client requirements, and applicable regulatory expectations. You will develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and CSA standards, while promoting a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. This position calls for exceptional leadership and project management capability, with the ability to supervise technical staff, coordinate resources effectively, and uphold high-quality standards across multiple projects.

You will lead and support internal, external, and third-party audits to confirm compliance with project specifications, client expectations, and industry regulations. In addition, you will evaluate supplier capability and performance to help ensure the quality and reliability of products and services delivered to the project. The role requires advanced expertise in quality control processes, auditing, and root cause analysis, as well as strong analytical skills and close attention to detail when reviewing technical documentation, identifying risks, and assessing project outcomes against established quality objectives.

A central aspect of the role will be managing non-conformance processes, including investigation, root cause identification, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). You will oversee document control, quality record management, and traceability requirements to ensure secure, accurate, and accessible project documentation at all times. You will also maintain and update the project-specific Design Quality Management Plan, manage change control procedures during design revisions and project modifications, and deliver technical mentorship and training that strengthens quality awareness and capability across the team.

Working closely with multidisciplinary design teams, contractors, consultants, and government stakeholders, you will coordinate quality assurance activities and help drive effective collaboration throughout project delivery. Your strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills will be essential in reporting quality metrics, audit findings, and non-conformance status to senior leadership and other key parties. Alongside this, you will champion HSE awareness, environmental compliance, and safe working practices in all quality-related activities, while conducting investigations and testing for more complex issues and ensuring project handover documentation meets all required quality and compliance standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 12 years of combined experience in quality management for large-scale infrastructure projects, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
