Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility
Design / Presales Engineer Lead will respond to customer RFQs with pricing that will allow the operations team to be financially successful and for the customer to be satisfied with the value. This position will typically see 10-20 RFQs per week that need to be reviewed, staffing confirmed and submitted before the customer-imposed deadline. The analyst will need to be well organized and motivated to work independently without being prompted.
Responsibilities:
• Ability to meet RFQ response deadline provided by the customer
• Confirm technician and engineering staffing assurance on all responses
• Ensure margin integrity of all RFQ responses
• Drive executable "order" approach with OEM Resource Management
• Ensure RFQ scope is clearly understood with assigned PM
• QuickBase entry of all RFQ response data
• Pricebook updates -- Pricing and Assumptions
• Drive/contribute to program proposals working with the SA and Business Development
• Issue RFQs to NCR Atleos subcontractors for some services (FC, etc.)
• Review all $50k plus RFQ responses with internal Sr Ops Manager prior to submitting
• May need to travel on occasion (up to 10%)
Basic Qualifications:
• 4–6 years of experience in a sales engineering, solutions consulting, or similar technical customer-facing role
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field / technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
• Strong Optical Services background – clear understanding of Telcordia standards
• Strong organization and problem-solving skills
• Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc) skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate and build relationships with people across a wide variety of levels, cultures, and time zones
• Ability to quickly learn QuickBase as well as other software applications
• Ability to travel domestically (anticipated up to 10%)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in financial industry or banking preferred
