Job DescriptionThe job role of a design manager involves the following duties: Motivating and encouraging internal and external design teams. Ensuring structural drawings and designs are produced on time, to a high quality, and are easy to decipher. Overseeing the design process using technical expertise.
- Attending, hosting or coordinating department meetings
- Ensuring that the design work is of sufficient quality and that all directives are being followed
- Collaborating with your own team and with other departments to achieve design goals
- Working to meet the expectations of the customer or client
- Excellent coordination and communication skills with high profile clients ensuring efficient output
- Managing and delegating tasks where necessary and reviewing that work when it has been completed
- A deep technical knowledge of the complete design process from brainstorming to end product
- A creative drive and a keen eye for innovative ideas and trends
- Effective supervisory and organizational skills
- The ability to be a leader but to also know how to motivate team members
- The patience and determination to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Flexibility and dependability to work in multifaceted working environments
- The ability to produce quality projects consistently
- Excellent communication skills - both written and oral
- Innovative ideas and designs and putting them into a context that the rest of the team and the client/customer can understand
- Master's Degree in architecture or equivalent.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is a critical requirement.
- Proficiency in Lumion, 3DS Max or Rhino is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Adobe suite and Microsoft Office.
- Around 10 years of experience in relevant architectural design, working on large scale projects in GCC region.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a creative team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and visual, with a keen eye for detail.
- A portfolio showcasing a diverse range of projects, highlighting your designs.
- International experience is highly preferred (professional or education).
