Summary

The Design & Engineering Lead is responsible for the accurate and timely execution of site approval, planset creation, and  stamping of all customer projects. In this role you will serve as the official point of contact for design and engineering, and be responsible for the successful management of our designer and BPO network. Ensuring the accurate creation and timely execution of AHJ approved plansets is critical to the success of the operation.

  •  <10% design change requests
  • Management of design and BPO network to meet agreed upon SLAs for site approval, planset, and stamping 
  • < 4 day design change timeline
  • >90% pre-construction identification accuracy rate


Strategic & Tactical


  • Establish and manage relationships with third party design and BPO contractors  with the objective of driving  high quality and efficient design execution
  • Successfully oversee the execution of all site approvals, plan set creations, and stamping for all PV projects
  • Effectively manage and oversee the design network to meet targeted SLA’s for all required design aspects
  • Expedite any and all design change requests submitted by the customer or operations team
  • Ensure consistent design quality to match the local, state, and utility requirements for each PV system


Required Background and Skills

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a PV design, PV design team lead, or engineering role 
  • BS/BA in structural, mechanical, or electrical engineering preferred
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced rapidly changing environment
  • Storage product design experience 
  • Problem solver
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills (G Suite)
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of the construction or solar industry preferred
  • Spanish speaker is a plus
