Design Intern - Chicago

Job Description:

Ryan Companies has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Design Intern! This internship is available from May 2026 - August 2026.

As a Design Intern, you will be working under direct supervision of a licensed professional to gain experience in multiple areas of their design discipline.

Some things you can expect to do:

• Take specific direction on project and department activities and execute in a professional manner

• Work on various phases of project design from concept through construction administration.

• As part of an integrated design-build company, department tours through active projects offer an in-depth look at how designs in the computer come together in the built environment.

To succeed in this role, you must have: 

• You must be enrolled in a design program focusing on Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, or Civil Engineering.

Eligibility:

• Positions require verification of employment eligibility to work in the U.S.

Compensation:

The hourly wage is $20-$24/hour . The hourly rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.
