Position Summary:
Regal Rexnord seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer – Drawing Quality Specialist with a minimum of 8+ years of expertise in quality checking mechanical drawings, preferably involving industrial rotating equipment such as gearboxes, couplings, and bearings. The role involves performing detailed quality checks, verifying dimensional accuracy and tolerances, and approving drawings for production release.
Major Responsibilities
- Perform detailed quality checks on gearbox part drawings to verify dimensional accuracy, tolerances, and material specifications, ensuring compliance with design standards and company specifications.
- Cross-check drawings against design inputs, engineering calculations, and project requirements.
- Approve drawings for release to production after thorough review.
- Implement best practices for drawing control and document management.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance drawing accuracy and minimize rework.
- Conduct supplier Process Failure Analysis (PFA) reviews to ensure quality and reliability of sourced components.
- Apply strong expertise in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Create and modify 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks with precision and efficiency.
- Identify drive system components, prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), and generate documents required for ordering and releasing drawings, parts, or specifications.
- Support the preparation of design documents, installation instructions, customer data sheets, and other technical documentation.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree (BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in drawing quality checks, preferably involving industrial rotating equipment such as gearboxes, couplings, and bearings.
- Hands-on experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Pro-E/Creo, Inventor, AutoCAD, or DraftSight.
- Familiarity with ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle), product data/document management systems (PDM/DDM), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and adapt to dynamic work environments.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development within a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing setting.
