Allegro is seeking a motivated and talented Junior Design Enablement Engineer to join our dynamic Design Enablement team in Milan. In this role, you will learn to support and develop Foundry technology streams, process design kit (PDK) components, EDA tools, and mixed-signal design methodologies, with a growing focus on innovation and automation through AI and Machine Learning.
What You’ll Do
Support the design and maintenance of internal/external Process Design Kits (PDK), and contribute to IP Management and Quality Management System (QMS) processes.
Assist in the development and support of new PDK design methodologies.
Develop and maintain clear design and application documentation for Allegro's mixed-signal design community.
Work alongside senior engineers to support BCD/BI-CMOS PDK and Technology streams.
Collaborate with global design centers to help standardize and centralize the design environment, fostering re-use and knowledge sharing.
Develop internal projects utilizing AI, Large Language Models (LLM), and machine learning techniques to enhance design processes and tools.
Develop custom scripts and tools to improve design efficiency based on Business Unit (BU) requirements.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree (BSEE) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python and shell scripting.
- Solid knowledge of basic electronic circuitry, including the ability to read and understand schematics and layouts.
- A foundational understanding of the design-to-tape-out workflow (schematic, simulation, layout, physical verification).
- Eagerness to learn and a strong aptitude for creative problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- A keen interest in device physics, analog and mixed-signal circuit design, and semiconductor fabrication methods.
- Familiarity with EDA tools and bug tracking systems is a plus.
