The Design & Business Development Support position provides part-time support to the Sales, Design, and Business Development teams by assisting with proposals, design presentations, client-facing materials, and project development.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong design background who understands interior and/or landscape design, can translate project concepts into polished presentations, and can help Business Development Managers move opportunities efficiently from initial concept through proposal.
The position is primarily focused on supporting the team rather than independently owning a sales portfolio and is not a commission-based role.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, write, edit, and format client proposals in collaboration with Business Development Managers and Design team members.
- Create professional design decks and presentations that communicate design concepts, plant selections, containers, materials, layouts, and overall project intent.
- Assist with developing conceptual designs for interior and exterior landscape projects.
- Support Business Development Managers with preparation for client presentations and project meetings.
- Attend virtual client or internal meetings when needed to understand project requirements and assist with follow-up materials.
- Research plant material, containers, products, finishes, and other design elements needed for proposals.
- Help organize photographs, specifications, pricing information, design selections, and other project documentation.
- Update proposals and design decks based on client feedback or internal design revisions.
- Coordinate with Sales, Design, Operations, and Procurement as needed to ensure proposals are realistic, accurate, and aligned with company standards.
- Assist with presentations for new business opportunities, renewals, expansions, and special projects.
- Help maintain consistency and quality across proposals and client-facing design materials.
- Provide administrative and project support to the Business Development and Design teams as needed.
- Perform other related design, sales support, business development, project support, and administrative duties as assigned.
- Background in landscape design, interior landscape design, horticulture, architecture, environmental design, or a related field preferred.
- Experience preparing professional proposals, design presentations, or client-facing materials.
- Strong visual design and presentation skills.
- Strong written communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Comfortable collaborating remotely with Sales, Design, Operations, and clients.
- Ability to understand a project vision and translate that vision into a clear, attractive, and professional proposal or presentation.
- Knowledge of plants, landscape materials, containers, and commercial landscape design is highly preferred.
- Previous experience supporting Business Development or Sales teams is preferred.
