Role Summary
This Accessibility and Digital Ethics Technologist role will drive enterprise-wide strategy for accessibility and digital ethics. This includes guiding how these principles are applied to current and future innovations, with a focus on AI-powered solutions. The role partners closely with product, engineering, design, research, legal, compliance, and data teams to ensure that accessibility and ethical practices are integrated throughout the product lifecycle.
A major focus of the role is enablement and automation. The Advisor creates frameworks, tools, and scalable self-service systems that help teams adopt accessibility and digital ethics practices efficiently and consistently.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Strategy and Governance
- Develop and maintain company-wide strategies for accessibility and digital ethics, with a strong focus on AI-driven experiences.
- Partner with leaders to define governance models, ethical principles, and measurable outcomes.
- Contribute to policies that support responsible, inclusive, and ethically grounded digital products.
Cross Functional Advisory and Implementation
- Serve as a subject matter expert in accessibility and digital ethics for product teams across the organization.
- Review product concepts, designs, and technical solutions to ensure accessibility compliance, inclusive design, fairness, transparency, and user trust.
- Provide guidance on the ethical use of data, automation, and AI in product development.
Enablement, Tooling, and Automation
- Create self-service frameworks, toolkits, playbooks, and automated systems that scale accessibility and digital ethics practices.
- Support integration of automated checks into product development workflows.
- Identify opportunities to streamline delivery through reusable components and design system contributions.
Advocacy, Education, and Culture Building
- Lead training and enablement efforts that strengthen accessibility and digital ethics knowledge.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, responsibility, and thoughtful innovation.
- Serve as an internal and external thought leader in accessibility, digital ethics, and responsible AI.
Future Vision and External Representation
- Shape and articulate a forward-looking vision for the future of accessibility and digital ethics, including how emerging technologies such as AI will impact inclusive design and user trust.
- Represent the company publicly as a credible thought leader, engaging in speaking opportunities, in person forums, industry events, and professional publications.
- Communicate complex accessibility and ethical concepts clearly to diverse audiences, strengthening the organization’s reputation, and influencing the broader ecosystem toward responsible and inclusive innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Eleven or more years of experience in accessibility, inclusive design, digital ethics, responsible AI, compliance, or related fields.
- Deep knowledge of WCAG, assistive technologies, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Strong understanding of AI ethics topics, including fairness, bias mitigation, transparency, explainability, and harm reduction.
- Demonstrated success advising cross functional teams and influencing enterprise strategy.
- Experience designing or supporting tools, frameworks, or automated systems that scale practices across large organizations.
- Excellent communication skills that make complex topics actionable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a large-scale enterprise, healthcare, or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with product development, design systems, engineering workflows, or content strategy.
- Experience with accessibility audits, ethical risk assessments, or AI impact evaluations.
- Proficiency with automated testing tools and AI evaluation techniques.
- Recognized thought leadership or published work in accessibility, digital ethics, or responsible innovation.
