Position Description
The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for developing and executing demand planning strategies to help meet customer needs across our product range while maintaining forecast accuracy and optimal inventory levels to support sales and operational plans. They will lead process improvements across the team while working closely with Sales, Channel, Product, Finance, and our US partners. There will be an emphasis on promotional and new product activity as well as managing risks and challenges as they arise.
What You Will Do
- Lead the development of the budget with Sales, Product, Channel and Finance teams.
- Implement and optimize demand planning tools and methodologies to improve forecasting accuracy.
- Monitor shipment forecasts and align on monthly sales calls with Sales and Finance, identify any risks to the forecast and its impact to Sales
- Analyze demand patterns, inventory levels to adjust forecasts and improve forecast accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Channel to align forecasts for promotional events to ensure inventory availability, determine if there are any potential risks and help develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and present demand forecasts and risks to senior management and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Regularly review forecast changes with the US Supply team and drive solutions to minimize E&O, potential lost sales, or customer service level risk.
- Generate and present reports related to supply chain metrics including in stocks, forecast accuracy and inventory.
- Mentor and develop a team of demand planners, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
What You Will Bring
- Post-Secondary degree in Business or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management, preferably in the consumer goods or manufacturing sector.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in demand planning software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, PowerBI) and the ability to manipulate and analyze large amounts of data quickly through Excel.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams.
