Demand Planner II
Position Overview
The demand planning role is a multi-disciplined position that will find you interacting with customers, operations, production, engineering, and business management. The key position objective is maintenance of customer demand to the supply agreements and continuously striving for maximum customer satisfaction, 100% on time delivery (OTD) and while striving for minimum levels of inventory (PDSOH).
Key Abilities and Experience
Strong communication skills and comfortable with direct team and customer interaction
Able to work within cross-functional teams and comfortable with decision making
Able to self-motivate and capable of working alone as required
Knowledge of supply chain principles would be desired
SAP knowledge and familiar with production routings for Ferts, Halbs, and materials master key settings for an assembly.
MS Excel knowledge, ideally at least the intermediate level including knowledge of pivot tabling and look up functions
Significant knowledge in production operations including SMT, TH-Wave Soldering, and Box-Build programs or ability to adapt and acquire the knowledge.
Ability to be flexible in one’s daily schedule and activities and capable of working in a fast paced dynamic business
Strong desire to lead or be a part of continuous improvement activities
Key Performance Objectives
(Short term 0-6 months)
Learn and understand Kimball CFT (customer focus team) principles and working jointly with the program manager and team.
Perform weekly/daily customer contacts, telecoms, and as required attend quality and customer focus team meetings.
Review customers PO’s and correlate to the contract review checklist and lead effort to identify and assist in resolve of any non-conformance.
Understand non-conformances and capable of documenting or verbally bring to the attention of the program manager, and if needed the demand planning mgr.
Assist with the sales tracking periodically throughout the month for all programs to understand impacts to revenue that might exist, or opportunities to improve.
Learn and understand SAP materials master definitions and timeline and process of planned to release production order.
(Mid term 6-18 months)
Able to report and understand the metrics related to:
Accuracy of forecast and customer order entry
Understand plant production efficiency and how this would relate to CFT (customer focus team).
Ideally, work towards customer 100% On Time Delivery
Attend internal customer PBR’s (Periodic Business Review) and understand those key areas of reporting that maximizes customer satisfaction and company (EP) economic profit.
Key Performance Objectives
(Long term > 18 months)
Thorough understanding of materials master definitions and purpose, including (EQQ) economic order quantities, lot sizing, and customer KANBAN opportunities.
Able to backup co-workers and specific programs in regards to out of office and vacation support.
Good understanding of supply chain management and attending, training, seminars, or taking of APIC’s courses.
Thorough understanding of all aspects of demand planner role.
