The Role

Demand Generation Manager

2025 is set to be a huge year for Proton. We just wrapped up our best year yet in 2024, and now we’re going all in. To hit our ambitious growth goals, we need someone laser-focused on driving demand.

That’s where you come in. This isn’t a “just run the playbook” role. As our Demand Generation Manager, you’ll own and execute our entire demand generation strategy. You’ll create and lead programs that attract prospects and get them excited to buy. From launching creative campaigns to testing bold ideas, your work will play a critical role in delivering the leads our sales team needs to succeed.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you’ll work closely with our growing marketing and sales teams and have the autonomy to shape and own your work. Success in this role means hitting key goals like pipeline creation, lead quality, and campaign performance—all while helping us stay ahead of our ambitious growth targets.

If you’re someone who thrives on creating and executing a vision, testing bold ideas, and taking ownership of results, this role is for you. This is a hybrid role (3 days in office) based in the greater Boston area (Kendall Square).

What you’ll do:

  • Run demand generation programs: Build and execute strategies that surface new opportunities for our BDRs to follow up on, ensuring a steady flow of high-quality leads into the pipeline.
  • Optimize paid media: Manage our paid ad agency, oversee ad strategy and performance, and ensure every dollar spent delivers maximum ROI while consistently fueling inbound demand.
  • Develop nurture programs: Create campaigns to keep "not now" prospects engaged, ensuring we stay top-of-mind until the timing is right for them to buy.
  • Drive ABM success: Design and execute personalized campaigns targeting high-value accounts, using creative strategies to break into key markets.
  • Experiment and scale: Test and iterate on new ideas—such as micro-events, direct mail, or creative outreach—to discover what works and scale successful programs.
  • Collaborate across teams: Partner with Sales, Content, and RevOps to align strategies, share insights, and ensure seamless execution across the funnel.
  • Measure and optimize: Track campaign performance, analyze ROI, and continuously refine strategies to improve outcomes.

Who you are:

  • You’ve done this before— you have 3+ years in demand generation or growth marketing in a B2B SaaS environment.
  • You’re resourceful and scrappy—you know how to make things happen, even with tight budgets.
  • You’re sesults-driven—you focus on outcomes and use data to track performance and optimize campaigns.
  • You have a bias for action—you take initiative, love testing and learning, and aren’t afraid to take risks if they’re measurable.
  • You’re collaborative yet independent—you work well with others but don’t need hand-holding to get things done.
  • You’re a confident communicator—you’re comfortable being the face of a webinar or event and connecting authentically with your audience.
  • You have strong expertise with platforms like Google Ads and LinkedIn, with a proven ability to manage and optimize campaigns for performance.
  • You’re creative and think outside the box. We’re building a standout product, so your campaigns need to stand out too.
  • You’ve used tools like HubSpot, Salesforce, and Outreach—you can set up and run an automated campaign on your own.
  • Bonus points if you have experience with account-based marketing campaigns
