The Culture and Engagement Specialist will drive the integration of diversity, equity, and inclusion into HR strategies to foster a culture of inclusivity, support, and respect across the organization. This role will collaborate across teams to implement talent management resources, develop leadership programs, and enhance employee engagement through surveys, workshops, and industry best practices. The specialist will also design and facilitate innovative learning solutions to support talent development and cultural initiatives. This position requires strong expertise in DEI, facilitation, instructional design, and data-driven approaches to improve workplace climate and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

This role will have the following key responsibilities, which include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that the practice of inclusion is integrated in our HR strategies to ensure that all employees are included, supported, and respected in the acceleration of our mission and maxims.
  • Plan, develop, and execute an education and training program that is aligned with the learning, culture, and talent function.
  • Assess the culture of inclusion, using metrics such as Microsoft Forms to ensure that specific areas of attention are highlighted in strategic planning for HR; measure impact of culture and inclusion initiatives on the workplace climate.
  • Advise ERGs on aligning their activities with DEI goals and business priorities, while providing leadership development for ERG leaders.
  • Ensure ERGs have the necessary resources, governance, and support to effectively execute initiatives and foster inclusion across the organization.
  • Track ERG contributions to company culture and DEI metrics, while promoting their initiatives to increase participation and visibility throughout the organization.
  • Create and manage programs that foster a positive workplace culture, improve employee engagement, and align with organizational values.
  • Design and administer surveys to assess employee satisfaction, culture, and engagement, then analyze the data to make recommendations for improvement.
  • Partner with HR, managers, and other stakeholders to promote engagement resources and initiatives, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Leading and delivering culture, well-being, and engagement workshops, including Employee Assistance Program (EAP) sessions, to build a more inclusive and supportive environment.
  • Design and develop learning resources that reflect instructional design principles and adult learning theory using a variety of modalities (e-learning, facilitator-led, online articles, podcasts, etc.).
  • Create and manage project plans to ensure content is delivered on time, on budget, and to expected levels of quality.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects to ensure the expected quality and timelines.
  • Design various metric strategies to enable evaluation and reporting on the achievement of identified objectives and related success measures for projects and learning solutions.
  • Assess and manage contractors/vendors that are utilized to deliver specialized training.
  • Stay well-informed regarding industry, technology, and business line-related topics to ensure training content is relevant and applicable to client needs.
  • Work on and/or lead projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and assist with other corporate initiatives as requested.

Skills and experience

  • Required Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree and 8 years of related experience or a Master's degree and 6 years of related experience.
  • 3 years’ experience in learning, education, project management or human resources (required)
  • 5 years’ experience in learning, education, project management or human resources (preferred)
  • Knowledge of and experience in project management, change management, and adult learning.
  • Expertise in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Global Perspective competencies: cultural competence, negotiation and facilitation, continuous learning, complex group dynamics, judgment, and DEI subject matter expertise.
  • Strong project management experience
  • Experience facilitating learning programs that reflect knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles, both virtually and in-person
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills
  • Excellent organization, detail orientation, time management, and communication skills to balance multiple priorities and achieve expected results
  • Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as with diverse employees
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in the work environment and to alter approach or method to successfully lead change
  • Advanced experience with the Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience with HRIS and learning management systems
  • Global business experience and the ability to work with people from different cultures
  • Must demonstrate and embody Nordic maxims
