We're hiring a DeFi Backend Engineer to help scale Paxos Labs's DeFi infrastructure capabilities.
We are open to candidates of varying levels of experience for this role.
Who we're looking forThe team at Paxos Labs builds DeFi infrastructure that reimagines the way on-chain liquidity strategies are handled. Strategies and risk management are delegated to sophisticated actors who act from compute done in a data rich offchain environment—all the while maintaining onchain constraints that enforce user safety.
We are looking for a motivated developer that can not only develop, but aptly research and deploy extensive knowledge across TradFi and DeFi to execute state-of-the-art risk curation and yield optimization in DeFi..
Most importantly, we are looking for developers with interests in the following:
Quantitative Risk Analysis
DeFi Trading Strategies
Performant Backend Engineering
Financial
Collaborate closely with a Quantitative Researcher to manage a portfolio of yield generating opportunities across protocols and blockchains.
Manage algorithm design and back testing to produce actionable insights for DeFi portfolio management.
Engineering
Automate complex onchain interactions interacting with various DeFi protocols via offchain services.
Monitor data, forecast risk, and implement optimized triggers to enter opportunistic strategies or exit black swan events before anyone else in the market.
Maintain trading infrastructure and tools to guarantee operational security and to reduce trust assumptions for our users.
Build solvers that can find the optimal routing through various DEXs to construct transactions that can process multiple swaps in batch.
DeFi
Deep Knowledge on DeFi Protocols. Internal mechanisms of many if not most of the following protocols:
Liquid staking protocols (Lido, EtherFi, Kinetiq)
AMMs (Uniswap, Balancer)
Lending protocols (Aave, Morpho, Maple, Term Finance)
Perp DEXs (Hyperliquid, Lighter, GMX).
Auctions/RFQs/Routers (CoW Protocol, UniswapX, 1inch Fusion, Hashflow)
Deep Knowledge on Data Engineering
Analyzing smart contract events and historical on-chain data.
Familiarity with Risk Management
Financial and statistical concepts to measure risk and optimal portfolio management.
Experience with managing trading or yield generating strategies onchain or in traditional finance contexts. Either manually or with automation.
Infrastructure
Deep Knowledge in building performant offchain infrastructure with EVM RPCs, ethers, viem, revm, geth, etc.
Deep Knowledge in DevOps tools such as Docker, ECR, or Kubernetes.
Deep Knowledge in Databases—SQL, Postgres, Supabase.
Familiarity reading and writing Solidity and using Foundry.
Experience with designing or participating in MEV or order flow auctions.
