Summary Generated by Built In

The Test /Data Engineer is the central point for engineering activity through the design and manufacture of screw pumps made to customer or internal specifications. In the defense organization, the Test /Data engineer is presented with unique operational requirements which ultimately ensure that US service men and women return from duty safely. This is accomplished by leveraging your technical skills to meet the technical challenges presented by our customers and their unique applications.

As a Test /Data Engineer, you will collaborate with internal customers, sales teams, program manager, Quality, and manufacturing team members.  You will efficiently utilize computer-aided engineering (CAE) systems, material requirements planning (MRP) systems, Engineering standards, and other analysis tools to determine appropriate testing methods, provide data trends for pump performance, and ultimately be able to develop predictive tools for pump performance based on manufacturing variability.  You will also work closely with pump testing personnel, quality engineers, and design engineers to assess factory acceptance testing data, develop trends for similar pump types, and make data driven decisions on process improvements.

Principal Activities

  • Working on collection and databasing test data
  • Creating custom viewers to analyze and interpret data
  • Automate plots for report generation
  • Create a linear regression model in excel to predict pump performance based on measurements.
  • Generate test report for customer and document non-conformances
  • Help QC log important measurement for customer reporting and make it easily accessible for future needs.
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary team supporting the design, manufacturing, and testing of pumps
  • Collect, organize, and interpret Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) and test data through visualizations leveraging ‘dashboards’ for stakeholders to use.
  • Identify patterns and trends to make strategic decisions regarding manufacturing and test data
  • Develop and maintain data architectures using historical data as well as recommendations for new/future data collection and organization
  • Improve and automate tasks to ensure consistent quality and improve processing time
  • Generate Reports with data visualization for internal and external customers
  • Supports the development of Engineering standards, design specifications, analysis methods, design verification and product validation methods, development plans and structures necessary for translating engineering knowledge into new product designs
  • Initiates and contributes to the creation of installation and operation instructions, care and maintenance instructions, assembly, visual aids and other customer facing documentation.
  • Looks for ways to improve robustness of designs to reduce lead times and/or extend service life of units.
  • Strives to grow their technical expertise in the understanding and application of new methods, technological developments, advanced concepts, principles, and methods, as assigned. When needed develops or improves analysis methods, tools and programs.
  • Interprets, organizes, executes and coordinates the timely completion of assignments.
