Leidos is seeking a Defense Program Finance Analyst to join the Defense Sector finance team, supporting the Defense Service Centers. In this role, you will be a key member of the finance team responsible for financial planning, analysis, forecasting, and reporting that enable effective operations across a broad portfolio of facilities and specialty service centers.
The Defense Service Center team oversees financial allocation and operational support for 78 facilities across the U.S. and 45 specialty service centers, including laboratories, cost pools, and PMO functions. Primary Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end financial management of assigned service centers, supporting a wide range of facilities and specialty service centers.
- Partner with the service center accounting team, program managers and functional leaders to help ensure accurate and compliant allocations.
- Prepare financial forecasts, standard reports, and ad hoc analyses to support decision-making.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of cost and financial performance drivers.
- Own the monthly close process for assigned service centers, including validation and certification of allocations.
- Perform variance analysis and reporting against AOP and quarterly forecasts; communicate drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Support service center and facility start-up and maintenance activities, ensuring processes are executed correctly.
- Analyze actuals for accuracy, identify errors, and ensure timely correction.
- Serve as a liaison between the program team and cross-functional partners to perform financial research and resolve issues.
- Participate in new business/proposal support activities as needed.
- Provide strategic solutions to help optimize to enable operational efficiency and cost design.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field and 4+ years of experience in finance operation or financial planning (additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of cost and financial data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to identify financial drivers and perform both high-level and detailed analysis.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present clear, data-supported conclusions.
- US citizenship is required and able to obtain security clearance as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Finance experience supporting service centers and previous Sector FP&A experience preferred.
- Experience with Costpoint, Cognos, Oracle Analytics, and other Leidos financial systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong financial modeling skills with the ability to perform what-if analysis and multiple scenario building.
