Supports governance, operational risk, compliance, and internal control activities for GWB CIBC. Responsibilities include risk identification, RCSA, control testing, regulatory gap analysis, remediation tracking, policy updates, audit support, and management of compliance and operational risk events. Serves as a business advisor and escalation point on AML/CFT, sanctions, foreign exchange, connected-party, anti-bribery, and other regulatory matters.

- Facilitate the review, capturing and tracking of key Compliance and Operational Risk events, gaps and risk mitigating actions as required in the form of Management Self-Identified Issues (MSII), Control Issue Management (CIM) or Lost Event Data (LED) via the GRC system and facilitating the validation process by Risk Control Unit.
- Undertake effective control self-testing measures in the form of Key Risk Indicator (KRI) and Control Effectiveness Testing (CET).
- Drive and participate in operational risk related projects where required.
- Drive compliance with Group Compliance’s (GC) policies and procedures.
- Support the performance of gap analysis via the Regulatory Change Management (RCM) modules in GRC System for the new and/or updated regulatory requirements. Drive appropriate actions to closed the gaps identified.
- Support GWB CIBC during audits & thematic reviews by internal /external stakeholders where applicable.
- Business advisor, key liaison and key escalation point for the front-liners as well Second Line of Defense functions in relation to regulatory/compliance and internal requirements related matters for GWB CIBC inclusive of but not limited to AML/CFT, Sanctions, Foreign Exchange Policy, Connected Party, Anti-Bribery & Corruption related regulations. Provide guidance as needed to support the business in meeting their risk objectives.
- Drive, provide advice, or participate in compliance related projects, improvement programs or remediation activities where required.
- Participate in and contribute to other key processes of CIBC inclusive of Watchlist Alerts Management, Personal Account Dealing, AB&C declarations, cross-border activities, mandatory leaves and training.
- Undertake tasks relating to regulatory or compliance as and when required by the Head of CIBC Governance.
