About Nebius:
Nebius is leading a new era in cloud infrastructure for the global AI economy. We are building a full-stack AI cloud platform that supports developers and enterprises from data and model training through to production deployment, without the cost and complexity of building large in-house AI/ML infrastructure.
Built by engineers, for engineers. From large-scale GPU orchestration to inference optimization, we own the hard problems across compute, storage, networking and applied AI.
Listed on Nasdaq (NBIS) and headquartered in Amsterdam, we have a global footprint with R&D hubs across Europe, the UK, North America and Israel. Our team of 1,500+ includes hundreds of engineers with deep expertise across hardware, software and AI R&D.
The Hardware Automation team builds the internal platforms and tooling that power how Nebius operates its data center infrastructure at scale. Our mission is to eliminate manual effort, reduce human error, and give every team in the Hardware Infrastructure department real-time visibility and control over the systems they own.
We operate as a product engineering team embedded within hardware infrastructure — meaning we don't just write requirements and hand them off. We own the full stack: from requirements gathering with data center operations and hardware engineering, through design and build, all the way to rollout and ongoing reliability.
We're looking for an Engineering Manager/Team Lead who leads by doing. This is an 70% hands-on, 30% leadership role — you'll spend the bulk of your time writing and reviewing code, designing systems, debugging gnarly automation failures, and driving technical improvements directly. The rest is about mentoring your team, aligning with stakeholders, and helping set the technical direction for the team's roadmap.
You'll be the person who raises the bar through example: shipping robust automation, defining good engineering practices, and making the team more effective over time.
- 7+ years in software or systems engineering, with significant experience building infrastructure automation or platform tooling.
- Strong programming skills — Python is the primary language; comfort with Go or another compiled language is a plus.
- Experience designing and operating distributed systems or internal platforms in production.
- Proven ability to mentor and technically lead a small engineering team.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English.
- Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Victoria Metrics, Grafana) applied to hardware telemetry.
- Background in distributed systems or large-scale infrastructure orchestration (Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform).
- Deep Linux expertise
