JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resources Coordinator provides day-to-day HR operations support for the distribution center. The role owns hourly recruiting coordination, candidate pipeline administration, onboarding and orientation, training compliance tracking, payroll and timekeeping support, and culture and recognition support. The Coordinator serves as an initial resource for routine Team Member questions and promptly routes matters requiring judgment or employee relations expertise to the HR Business Partner or the appropriate Home Office team.
ROLE SCOPE
The HR Coordinator helps create a welcoming and positive team member experience at the Distribution Center. This role supports day-to-day HR activities, answers routine questions, prepares documentation, and helps HR processes run smoothly. The Coordinator helps facilitate new-hire onboarding, orientation, and other onboarding programs, while also actively participating in culture, engagement, and recognition events. They partner closely with the HR Business Partner, share helpful data and team member feedback, and connect Team Members with the right resources and support when needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Own hourly recruiting and candidate pipeline management, including posting approved openings, reviewing applications, conducting initial screens, maintaining candidate status, scheduling interviews and communicating next steps.
Coordinate approved offers with hiring managers and the HRBP, ensuring required approvals and documentation are complete before offers are extended.
Coordinate background checks and drug screens, track completion and escalate exceptions to the appropriate partner.
Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation, including I-9 completion, benefits overview, required documentation and first-day readiness.
Monitor hourly staffing activity against approved hiring goals and promptly report pipeline gaps or risks.
Track required training completion, maintain accurate compliance records and partner with operations trainers on scheduling and follow-up.
Maintain HRIS data integrity through timely entries, audits, corrections and recurring data validation.
Prepare recurring operational HR reports and provide accurate data to the HRBP and DC leaders.
Provide day-to-day payroll and timekeeping support, research routine discrepancies and route exceptions to Payroll or the HRBP.
Answer routine HR, policy, benefits, payroll and system questions. Provide basic policy education and guide employees and managers to available self-service resources.
Coordinate approved culture, recognition and engagement activities. Provide participation data and employee feedback to the HRBP to inform retention efforts.
Coordinate day-to-day staffing agency administration within approved staffing plans, including associate rosters and invoice processing.
Receive team member questions and concerns, document factual intake and promptly escalate sensitive complaints, leave or accommodation matters, employee relations concerns and other complex issues to the HRBP or appropriate Home Office team.
Maintain working knowledge of DC operations, policies, organizational structure, roles and workflows to provide effective operational support.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Prior experience in HR, recruiting or HR operations preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with applicant tracking, HRIS, payroll or timekeeping systems preferred.
Strong attention to detail, data accuracy and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Strong interpersonal, written communication, administrative and customer service skills.
Sound judgment when handling sensitive and confidential information, including knowing when to escalate matters.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with the HR team and business partners.
Bilingual skills preferred.
Ability to work a mid-shift schedule from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
