Mr. Greens serves a large variety of clients, including restaurants, hotels, country clubs, caterers, grocery stores and retail outlets.
The Export Warehouse Selector is responsible for selecting products for export, preparing them for shipment, and verifying key export documentation, including invoices and Phytosanitary Certificates. This role requires attention to detail to ensure that all shipments meet regulatory requirements and customer specifications. The position also involves maintaining warehouse organization and safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Order Picking and Fulfillment:
- Use a pick sheet to locate and select merchandise within the warehouse for export.
- Ensure products are picked accurately and are properly packaged for shipment.
- Palletize, wrap, and scan orders to prepare them for export, following FIFO (First In, First Out).
- Verify quantities of products being picked, ensuring order accuracy.
- Export Documentation:
- Review and verify export invoices for accuracy, ensuring all details align with the customer order.
- Check Phytosanitary Certificates to confirm compliance with export regulations.
- Ensure all required export documentation is accurate and complete before shipping.
- Product Handling:
- Load, unload, sort, and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts.
- Breakdown and restack merchandise from pallets as needed.
- Ensure that products are picked, handled, and loaded carefully to prevent damage.
- Warehouse Maintenance and Safety:
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse by removing scrap wood, paper, plastic wrappers, and broken pallets.
- Adhere to safety protocols, ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
- Work in multi-temperature environments, including refrigerated areas (35-70°F).
- Report any damaged equipment to supervisors or maintenance staff.
- Team Collaboration:
- Cooperate with supervisors and peers to meet productivity goals and maintain a smooth workflow.
- Assist with inventory control, ensuring that stock is accurately tracked and recorded.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience with Power Pallet Jacks (Required).
- Prior experience in fresh produce or the food industry preferred.
- Familiarity with Phytosanitary Certificates and export documentation is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and in collaboration with other departments.
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 35 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
