We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist with a specialization in Deep Learning and Generative AI to join our team at Donaldson. The ideal candidate will possess a strong problem-solving ability, technical expertise, and a positive attitude. This position will play a key part in developing cutting-edge AI-driven solutions, with an initial focus on Generative AI applications using LLMs. Over the long term, the position will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement customized AI solutions leveraging deep learning and Generative AI architectures to optimize manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement AI Models: Design, develop, and deploy deep learning and generative AI models to solve complex manufacturing problems, such as predictive maintenance, quality control, and process optimization.

  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze large datasets from various sources to extract actionable insights and identify patterns.

  • Develop LLM-Based Applications: Create and implement generative AI tools using large language models (LLMs) to optimize internal business functions, automating workflows and enhancing decision-making.

  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams in India and the United States to identify opportunities for data-driven solutions and translate business needs into technical requirements.

  • Stay Updated with AI Trends: Keep up with the latest AI advancements and emerging AI tools to drive continuous innovation.

  • Technical Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation for developed models, algorithms, and processes to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing within the team. Ensure code quality, maintainability, and best practices in model deployment and integration.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Ph.D. or Master’s (Preferred) in computer science, Data Science, Physics, Statistics or a related field with a focus on AI and machine learning.

Technical Skills:

  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python and SQL is a must. Knowledge of other programming languages is an added advantage.

  • Deep Learning Frameworks: Experience with TensorFlow/PyTorch, and Keras.

  • Generative AI Models: Familiarity with GANs, VAEs, transformers, and large language models (LLMs).

  • Statistical Knowledge: Strong foundation in statistics, probability, and statistical modeling.

  • Data Science Libraries: Proficiency with libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, and Matplotlib.

  • Frameworks and Tools: Experience with LangChain for building applications with LLMs, and other relevant tools and frameworks.

  • Strong problem-solving mindset and logical thinking.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Positive attitude toward continuous learning and acquiring new skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

  • Mentor others in area of expertise

  • Prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Preferred Experience:

    • 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in data science with a strong focus on Deep learning & Generative AI

    • Experience in the manufacturing industry or a related field.

    • Knowledge of IoT and edge computing technologies.

    • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for deploying AI solutions.

    • Additional Tools: Experience with Snowflake, Azure, and Databricks would be an added advantage.
