Databricks Developer

T-Rex Solutions is looking to select a Databricks Developer to support our Internal Revenue Service (IRS) EDOS program. The overall mission of this program is to modernize the IRS legacy Tax processing systems and is critical to the overall modernization of the IRS to improve taxpayer experience, increase voluntary compliance, and reduce the IRS’s reliance on costly and unsustainable legacy technology. This role will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing robust solutions for a variety of programs and applications.

In this position, you will benefit from experience with Databricks and AWS, as these platforms are essential to the role. Familiarity with Python and SQL will enhance your ability to develop and optimize data-driven applications, while exposure to Palantir is considered advantageous. You will also have the opportunity to lead initiatives that drive innovation, identifying gaps in current project architecture and proposing new software products to address those needs. Additionally, you may supervise a team of engineers, guiding them through the design, development, and implementation processes to ensure high-quality deliverables and continuous improvement within the team. As part of a talented software team, you'll work on mission-critical applications and contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative, and agile environment.

Responsibilities:

• Gathering, assessing, and interpreting complex data and information to inform your approach, often prototyping potential solutions during the analysis and development phases.
• Day-to-day work will include conducting thorough application tests and code reviews with each build iteration, ensuring that debugging, testing, code improvement, and redesign tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. You
• Expected to respond promptly to problem reports and code errors, delivering updated software solutions that address any identified issues.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience
• US Citizenship required
• Must possess an active IRS MBI Clearance and have current GFE
• Must have stills with Databricks and AWS
• Experience working on an Agile team and a strong understanding of agile methodologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with client stakeholders at all organizational and technical levels

Desired Skills:

• Python
• SQL
• Experience prototyping solutions and conducting code reviews
• Experience debugging, testing, and improving code
• Experience leading or supervising engineering teams

In compliance with pay transparency guidelines, the annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $152,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. T-Rex considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
