Database Specialist
This position provides administrative support to the AVP of Mission Advancement and the Database manager and other functions related to the office of Mission Advancement.
Candidates will be invited to demonstrate a willingness to support the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities Include:
- Performs administrative functions to support the daily operations of the Mission Advancement department including answering and directing phone calls, taking messages for the staff, responding to emails, entering data, maintaining the database, preparing reports and correspondence, making copies, maintaining records and files, managing incoming and outgoing mail, maintaining office equipment and managing supplies inventory, and scanning into Raisers Edge Software.
- Process and mail donor thank you letters. Process monthly donor reminders and overdue pledge reminders. Develop data audits, identify exceptions, manage remediation, and minimize recurrence.
- Build and develop queries in Raisers Edge in support of data export and creation of mailing lists. Develop and maintain datasets, queries, workflows, rules, reports, dashboards, mailings, forms, events, portals, and other system functionality.
- Perform prospect search for solicitors, coordinate with solicitors to ensure donor outreach and communication.
- Data entry and data cleanup. Lead and manage data quality, governance, and intelligence initiatives; ensuring data is strategically managed and leveraged. Perform and manage data uploads and exports, acquiring, validating, transforming, mapping, and testing inputs and outputs.
Desired Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience include:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of two years of related database experience; solid working experience in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook
- Upholds and supports the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary
- Supports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities
- Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the Office of Mission Advancement and throughout the university, in accord with Saint Benedict’s admonition that all be received as Christ

- Able to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and discretion
