Summary
Guidewire is looking for a collaborative, proactive, and results-oriented Database Migration Engineer. As Guidewire’s SAAS offering matures, we are facilitating migration of increasing numbers of customers' databases as well as databases with larger volumes and more complex data from legacy Guidewire systems into our Cloud Platform.Job Description
Successful Database Migration Engineers at Guidewire perform a variety of duties:
Optimization of data transfer
Runtime database performance optimization
Migration dry runs/rehearsals
Production go-lives
Assisting customers with data validation
Developing and maintaining tooling to automate migration activities
Required Experience:
5+ years of experience with database engineering, including 2+ year data migration
Deep knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL Server databases
Database Migration from Oracle and/or SQL Server to Postgres
Postgres database optimization (query plans, etc)
One or more cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc)
Data replication tools (MS SQL Server transactional replication, Oracle Golden Gate, AWS DMS, etc)
UNIX general administration skills, including scripting with bash, python etc
ANSI SQL Language
network connectivity and troubleshooting
Desired Experience:
Infrastructure management tools such as Terraform
Programming experience using languages likes Java, C, Kotlin, Go
Jira and/or Salesforce for managing work requests
Source control such as Git

Job Location & Hours:
Hybrid - Kraków office/partly remote
Standard 40 hour work week.
Weekend work is required. Expect to work 30-50% of weekends. Commensurate comp time is given flexibly the following week after a weekend is worked.
