We are currently recruiting for a Database Engineer to join our global Technology team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established firm with a global presence and significant growth potential.
What you will do:
- Working within the Infrastructure Team, you will support the Database technologies in use within our Production and Development Environments bot on premise and in Azure
- Ensure SQL backups and replication jobs are configured correctly and functioning.
- Manage capacity and performance monitoring across the SQL estate,
- Work closely with teams across Technology and guide the software engineering team with architecture and performance
- Supporting Microsoft BI environment
- Enhancement of our cloud and data center Infrastructure to improve performance, utilization, availability and security whilst controlling costs.
- Support the Rimes Data lake with the Business Systems Team.
Who you are:
Core Requirements:
- Experience in supporting Microsoft Database technology platforms
- Knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure and Cloud platforms
- Experience of auto deployment, scaling and resilience.
- Experience with Database monitoring and management systems
- An analytical approach to problem solving, identifying risks, and mitigating any impact on wider organisation.
- 3-5 years of experience in Database Administration
- Experience in resilience strategies and disaster recovery strategies.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
Nice to have:
- Experience with NoSQL or other Database technologies
- Experience with Windows Server and Linux
- Some familiarity with Single Sign On solutions, ideally Azure AD.
