Mission Focus: NT Concepts is seeking a Database Developer to support the DoD enterprise Military Housing system. This complex system of 34 web-based modules is used by over 10,000 active users to meet the housing needs of over 2.5 million service members, DoD civilians, and their families.
Clearance: Secret clearance required to start, must be eligible for a Top Secret clearance
Location/Flexibility: Vienna, VA with remote flexibility.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Database Developer to help us maintain multiple customer databases. In this position, your main priority is ensuring that the information is accessible to the right people at all times. You will be involved in responding to customer questions/issues with Oracle database modules, so you should come with working knowledge in SQL and PL/SQL programming. Our ideal applicant has a bachelor’s degree in IT and 3 years of database or software development experience and should be able to review procedures in Oracle databases as required by the applications. Additionally, you should have a solid understanding of version control using GitHub and database deployment methodologies, including state-based deployments.
Required Qualifications:
- Clearance: Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.
- BA/BS degree in a technical field (IT, Information Security, Database Administration)
- Current CompTIA Security + Certification or ability to obtain.
- 3 years of relevant professional experience supporting database development
- Experience with query tools such as Toad or SQL Developer.
- Good understanding of Oracle packages, procedures, triggers, indexes, and functions.
- Understanding of Oracle database design, theories, and data retrieval procedures adopted by applications.
- Proficiency in version control using GitHub.
- Understanding of database deployment methodologies, including state-based deployments.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Problem-solving and critical thinking
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of Agile software development.
- Experience with Java, C# , or Python
- Experience with Linux, Shell Scripting
- Oracle Certified Associate (OCA)
- Current Active Top-Secret Clearance
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at times
