What's exciting about the roleWorking locally in Turkey you will be part of a wider global team providing support and administration to our database environments. Partnering with project teams and developments teams, you will integrate SQL systems with third-party tools, as well as ensuring we remain compliant to standard practices and processes at all times.
Key responsibilities:
- Building and administering database environments to ensure high availability
- Analysing and developing data related reports
- Performing troubleshooting, resolution, and root cause analysis for database and application specific incidents
- Executing database performance analysis and tuning
- Carrying out Database backup and recovery operations, database patching and upgrades, and implementation of database security policies.
- Partnering with project technical leads and development teams to execute technical solutions in line with company strategic goals
- Ensuring compliance with standard practices and processes as well as maintaining and enhancing those processes
- Integrating SQL Systems with third party tools and environments
- Documenting policies, processes and procedures
- A minimum of 5 years of demonstrable hands-on experience working with SQL Server production databases
- Fluent English & Turkish language, both written and verbal
- Solid knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery with both SQL Clustering and Always-On/Distributed Always On Groups. Also, each technologies supported configuration and best practices
- Strong experience of T-SQL (complex queries, tuning and optimization)
- In depth backup and restore techniques for databases and service restoration
- Proven experience in zero downtime, cloud-based deployments, as well as administering large, high-available production systems
- Experience in supporting time critical applications
- Expertise in data and database security
- In depth knowledge of transactions and isolation levels
- Experience with automation tools and techniques is a plus
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Advanced troubleshooting / diagnostic / resolution skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
The following will be optional and beneficial to the role:
- Understanding of DEVOPS
- PowerShell experience
- Merge / Snapshot / Transactional Replication experience
- SQL on Linux
- SQL in AWS (EC2 and RDS)
- Experience with Oracle, MYSQL, PostgreSQL
